Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane by Suzanne Collins

When Boots is kidnapped and taken back to the Underland, Gregor has no choice but to follow. This time he is sent on a quest to find and kill the terrifying and powerful white rat known as the Bane. Everything goes wrong and some of those on the trip end up missing, possibly forever, leaving Gregor and Ares alone to hunt for the Bane.

The second book in the Gregor the Overlander series, Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane, is just as good as the first. Many unexpected events happen throughout which keeps the book exciting. There is one disturbing and slightly graphic thing that happens to a bat that upset my 9 year old son. Even so, before I had even finished the last chapter, he and my 7 year old were begging me to get the next one to read to them. I recommend this book to both adults and kids with the caveat that there are some disturbing bits in this book that may not be suitable for more sensitive people.
