Endurance: Shakleton’s Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing

At the start of World War I, Ernest Shakleton and his crew set out for Antarctica. Nearly three years later, everyone returned home. That they all made it home is nothing short of a miracle. That their original ship was named Endurance was almost prophetic given what they went through. In Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage, Alfred Lansing tells the tale of their journey in such a riveting way. I knew how it ended before I started, yet I was so caught up in his telling that I could barely put it down wanting to know what came next. Definitely a must-read book.
