Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi

The last full length novel in the Shatter Me series, Imagine Me is one wild ride. At 80% I had no idea how the series would be able to get wrapped up in the remaining pages. At 90% I was sure there was no possible way it would get wrapped up. At 98% I was very satisfied with the ending but also thinking how much I’m going to miss the characters. Incredible writing, incredible story. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series.

Shadow Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shadow Me is a novella from Kenji’s point of view with the events occurring at the same time as the tail end of Restore Me. Kenji is such a great, well developed character. I can’t help but fall in love with him. I read this novella in one sitting because I just couldn’t stop reading. It was really cool seeing some of the same scenes from a different point of view and also seeing what Juliette interpreted completely differently. The end left me wanting to hurry up and get to reading the next book. Seriously… what the heck?!?! I very highly recommend this novella to everyone who likes the Shatter Me series and especially everyone who loves Kenji.

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi

I had guessed a small part of the revelations in Restore Me, but most of them, and especially the very end, I did not expect at all. Juliette’s response to Warner’s information about herself was over the top and at the same time written exactly how a 17-year-old would react. I found myself completely unable to put my Kindle down the last quarter and my eyebrows moved farther and farther up my face the more I read. I’m so glad the author decided to go back and revisit the Shatter Me world and add to the series. Restore Me is a must read for all Shatter Me series fans.

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

Originally intended to be the final book of the Shatter Me series, Ignite Me has a very satisfactory ending. But even with the ending being good, I am very glad the author decided to come back and revisit the world she created and add more books to the series because I’m definitely not quite ready to let this story and the characters go. I could hardly put this book down. As with the previous books the writing was phenomenal. They way Juliette’s narration becomes more fragmented when she’s shutting down and the way things are phrased (like moments marching out a window) is incredible. I very highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the previous books in the series.

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

The second book in the Shatter Me series, Unravel Me picks right up where Shatter Me ends. It’s extremely confusing at the beginning which is intentional because Juliette is confused by everything that is going on and it’s from her point of view. The writing is slightly different in this book because Juliette is less in her head as she begins to associate with more people, though sometimes she reverts back to how she was in the asylum depending on what is going on and how it is affecting her. It’s incredible how well this works. The writing is, quite frankly, a masterpiece. The way things are phrased conjures up such vivid and unique images and feelings. There are a couple twists I wasn’t even remotely expecting. I very highly recommend this book to everyone who enjoyed Shatter Me.
